When it comes to life we as people can’t wait to judge or rank things against each other. That hamburger is not as good as that one place, Crunchy peanut butter is way better than smooth, that smooth peanut butter is better than that smooth peanut butter, or the top three movies about dogs are (insert your own titles). I guess we don’t really have much of a choice especially when comparing something, but as I left “Deadpool 2” I wanted to try so hard to judge it on it’s own and not against the first one. Well to let you know I failed in that, but it did bring out this whole why do we have to compare things to one another bit.

Now that I got that out of my system I can talk about how much more fun this go around with the comic book character that talks the most. Wade/Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) has been making the most of his business of tracking down bad people and ending their lives. Everything though is right as he gets to have his fun and eat his cake too with his cake being Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) or maybe she is the icing on his cake, anyway you get what I mean. Things go south when a boy named Russell (Julian Dennison) with some hot powers causes some problems and a man from the future named Cable ( Josh Brolin) has it out for him. Having discovered the importance of kids, Deadpool forms a team to help free him, a team that doesn’t fare so well except Domino (Zazie Beetz) who has the super power of luck which comes in handy from time to time. Together his new team must stop Cable from killing the boy and whatever else Deadpool can’t talk his way out of.

While “Deadpool 2” got off to a rocky start when it lost Tim Miller as the returning director, that looks like the only bump in the road. Getting behind the camera this time is David Leitch who as a stunt man knows action and this film is filled to the brim with that. And hey since it worked for the ‘John Wick’ movies, why not? Let’s be honest though, the most important part to this puzzle is Reynolds himself and after being Samuel Jackson’s bodyguard for a stint he is back playing the superhero role he was born for (sorry Green Lantern). Action is not the only thing that is taken to another level, as the laughs are too and believe it or not, you are going to have a lot more fun. Not having seen the original for a few years I worry about how the jokes hold up, but man that is such a nitpick, I mean this will be the most fun you have with a comic book movie for sure. So to recap more action, more laughs, and oh yeah Thanos himself in semi-human form Josh Brolin, what more can you ask for? Not much in my eyes, so go for the fun but stay for the action because with “Deadpool 2” you get the whole Chimichanga, whatever that means.
